D.C. Act 24-419. COVID-19 Hotel Recovery Grant Program Emergency Amendment Act of 2022.

AN ACT

To amend, on an emergency basis, the COVID-19 Hotel Recovery Grant Program Act of 2021 to revise the reduction in occupancy or revenue that a business must have incurred from 40% to 35% to be eligible for a grant to allow for a second round of funding, and to revise the deadline by which the Mayor must submit a report to the Council on the grants issued under the program from June 1, 2022, to July 15, 2022.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may be cited as the "COVID-19 Hotel Recovery Grant Program Emergency Amendment Act of 2022".

Sec. 2. Section 2192 of the COVID Recovery Grant Program Act of 2021, effective November 13, 2021 (D.C. Law 24-45; D.C. Official Code § 30-301), is amended as follows:

(a) Subsection (a)(5) is amended by striking the figure "40%" both times it appears and inserting the figure "35%" in its place.

(b) Subsection (f)(2) is amended by striking the phrase "June 1, 2022" and inserting the phrase "July 15, 2022" in its place.

Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.

The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement of the Budget Director as the fiscal impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

Sec. 5. Effective date.

This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), and shall remain in effect for no longer than 90 days, as provided for emergency acts of the Council of the District of Columbia in section 412(a) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 788; D.C. Official Code § 1-204.12(a)).
